They’ve tried through various means to ensure the person is whole and well.

Until the modern age, people always watched over their soul. The mosque or other religious groups maintained guard. In certain holistic medical practices, the healers also saw to the needs of the soul. They did not restrict their services to the physical body. Recently, medical professionals and individuals have begun to concern themselves with healing that includes the spirit.
